What Is The FFA Crop Management Challenge?
The Crop Management Challenge is a competition for Michigan FFA Chapters to enter and expand their member’s agronomy skills – competing with other chapters making sound agronomic and environmental decisions in a demonstration plot of corn or soybeans. The plots are located on the grounds of The AgroExpo.
First-place teams earn $1500 for their chapter, the traveling contest trophy, and a team plaque. The second-place team earns $1000 for their chapter and a team plaque. The third-place team earns $750 for their chapter and a team plaque.
For fun, the 2024 teams also competed against Kelly Garrett, of XtremeAg. As a generous Gold sponsor, they have offered our first, second, and third place CMC contest winners in both divisions a yearlong membership to Xtreme Ag. The site offers many agricultural learning opportunities, click here to learn more. https://www.xtremeag.farm/membership
The kids’ crop nutrition plans performed well against the pros. Here are the yield results, and the winners are posted below! Congratulations!
